PECR Audit

As your PECR compliance project draws to a close, it’s essential to get an independent assessment of your compliance position. The PECR are a complex set of rules, encompassing all electronic marketing communications, cookies and much more, that apply to electronic communications providers and any organisation that markets to customers via email, text, telephone or fax.

We will assess:

  • Organisation-wide awareness of the PECR; 
  • How risks are managed and the accompanying documentation;
  • The security procedures in place such as access limitation;
  • Handling of data subjects’ rights and privacy notices;
  • Staff training;
  • Data transfer mechanisms and third-party processors;
  • Your ISMS (information security management system), including testing and frameworks; and
  • Your breach response processes.

We will begin the audit remotely by assessing the relevant policies and procedures (which you will need to give us access to), before spending time at your offices to conduct the face-to-face audit of security practices. We will also interview staff members as needed. Following the audit, you will receive an extensive report outlining a summary of the findings, an audit opinion, detailed findings against predefined risks and concluding remarks.
